About Us
We The Leaders is a new political movement initiated by K. Annamalai, a former Tamil Nadu BJP president and ex-IPS officer. Launched on June 5, 2026, our movement aims to bring about a transformative change in the way politics is done in Tamil Nadu. We are working towards creating a full-fledged political party that will contest the next Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Our History
K. Annamalai, after resigning from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), announced the launch of We The Leaders as a precursor to a full-fledged political party. Our movement was built on the principles of conscious leadership, community engagement, and data-driven decision-making. We believe in moving away from “cult and dynastic politics” and fostering a “common man politics”.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a platform for conscious leadership, community engagement, and data-driven decision-making. We aim to bring about a change in the way politics is done in Tamil Nadu by:
- Promoting education, health, sustainability, and youth leadership
- Fostering a culture of community engagement and participation
- Using technology-driven governance to ensure transparency and accountability
- Building a cadre base of trained and dedicated leaders

Our Journey So Far
We The Leaders was officially launched on June 5, 2026, and has since gained significant traction. Our movement has attracted over 7.6 lakh volunteers within hours of its launch. We have also established the APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Ethics and Politics in Coimbatore to institutionalize political training.
Our central hub is located at wetheleaders.org, where individuals can sign up and join the movement. We invite volunteers and supporters who are passionate about education, health, sustainability, and youth leadership to join us in our mission to bring about a change in Tamil Nadu’s politics.
